Climate Ambassador Sends Dire Warning through 72 Paintings

Climate Ambassador, visual artist Asmaa Adel Al-Sayed sent a strong warning message to the peoples of the world through 72 paintings in her exhibition, “Our Planet is in Danger.”

“Our Planet is in Danger” was held in the Adam Haneen Hall in the Hanager Center, which witnessed great interest at the level of official and cultural circles.

Adel expressed her happiness at realizing her dream after two years of work until the exhibition came to light, to seal her position as a climate ambassador and warn the world through her paintings about the danger of climate change.

The exhibition included painting depicting the erosion of beaches, desertification, cutting down trees, overfishing, changing the colors of coral reefs, and fish behavior.

The exhibition was inaugurated by the Minister Plenipotentiary of the League of Arab States Haider Al-Jubouri, and Head of the Africa Center for Strategic Planning and international expert in climate policies Hossam El-Din Mahmoud, and Chairman of the Friends of Climate at the National Dialogue Forum Mahmoud Boraie.

Sherif Gad, Director of Cultural Activities at the Russian Center pointed out to the importance of the exhibition by virtue of the fact that important issues related to the environment were addressed in the form of art. "Art is one of the elements of soft power and has an effective impact on society in alerting to the seriousness of climate change."

Gad expressed his hope that the institutions concerned with preserving the environment would embrace this exhibition, which raised very important issues.
