Deputy Tourism Minister Participates in Arab-African Investment & International Cooperation Conference

In the presence of Ashraf Sobhi, the Minister of Youth and Sports, and Major General Khaled Fouda, Governor of South Sinai, Ghada Shalaby, Deputy Minister of Tourism and Antiquities for Tourism Affairs, participated in the "Arab-African Investment and International Cooperation" conference held in Sharm El Sheikh, South Sinai.

The conference, chaired by Huda Yassa, head of the Arab Investors Union, was organized in collaboration with the Businesswomen Association for Development.

The event was sponsored and participated by the Prime Minister's Office, the Arab League, and various ministries including Tourism and Antiquities, Defense and Military Production, Civil Aviation, Social Solidarity, Youth and Sports, Trade and Industry, Finance, Communications and Information Technology, Environment, and South Sinai Governorate, witnessed the participation of governmental leaders from several Arab and African countries.

During the conference, Deputy Minister Shalaby praised the choice of Sharm El Sheikh, known as the city of peace, for hosting this important event. She highlighted the city's development as a hub for conference tourism, alongside its unique tourism attributes, and its preparation to welcome spiritual and wellness tourism.

Shalaby highlighted the recent progress in Egypt’s tourism industry, attributing the notable success to the national strategy for tourism development in Egypt, spearheaded by the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities. 

The strategy aims to attract 30 million tourists by 2028, focusing on improving the tourism investment climate in Egypt, given the significance of tourism investment in supporting and developing the tourism industry.

Shalaby emphasized the ministry's efforts to attract tourism investment by continuously highlighting Egypt's enormous potential and substantial assets, which include fundamental elements like beaches, culture, and entertainment, besides additional products the state and the ministry are working on developing such as health tourism, both therapeutic and wellness, and spiritual tourism in the St. Catherine's Greater Transfiguration region. 

She also mentioned investment opportunities in promising areas like the surroundings of the Giza Pyramids and Sphinx Airport, and the cities of Luxor and Aswan.

Shalaby further elucidated the state's efforts in providing all facilitations and incentives to attract investments in various fields, especially tourism, alongside the concerted efforts of all concerned entities in the state always striving to create a suitable and attractive investment climate.
