Reigning and defending champions Cameroon started their campaign of defending their Africa Cup of Nations crown with a victory over Guinea-Bissau in Group F.

The five-time winners had a less than mediocre start in Ismailia stadium but grew into the game as the first half progressed. The Lions waste the opportunities to get the lead on several occasions, but remained dangerous nonetheless.

Yaya Banana opened the scoring for the Lions in the 66th minute, heading low into the net from Karl Toko Ekambi's cross. Stephane Bahoken capitalized on a defensive mistake three minutes later to seal the points for his nation after a great display of football skills.
