The Foreign Minister of Denmark Lars Rasmussen informed his Egyptian counterpart Sameh Shoukry that the Danish government is examining several laws against Holy Quraan insulting incidents, Foreign Ministry's Spokesperson Ahmed Abu Zied said on Friday.

Abu Zied expressed that both ministers discussed the latest insulting incidents against the Holy Quran, asserting that those incidents threaten the peaceful life between communities.

He expressed that the Danish minister underscored that those behaviors don't express the values of the Danish society, undertaking to protect the headquarters of the foreign diplomatic missions in Denmark, including the Egyptian one.

Rasmussen also condemned those incidents, expressing his dissatisfaction and regret over such actions.

On his side, Shoukry asserted his rejection of all incidents against the Holy Quran, and the repetition of those actions without setting serious punishments.

Fahmy revealed that the Minister asked countries to be responsible and counter those actions to stop them in the future, in addition to taking serious moves to protect people's beliefs and counter hate speech against religions and cultures.

The Spokesperson added that both ministers also discussed bilateral ties, as Shoukry praised the unique role of the Danish investments in Egypt.

Fahmy concluded that the Danish Foreign Minister expressed the keenness of the Danish Prime Minister to receive President Abdel Fattah El Sisi in Copenhagen.
