Culture Min, Giza Governor Re-Inaugurate Al-Bahr Al- Azam Library

After eight years of halt, Dr. Inas Abdel Dayem, Minister of Culture, in company with Major General Ahmed Rashed, Governor of Giza, and Dr. Ahmed Awwad, head the General organization for Culture Palaces, re-inaugurated Al-Bahr Al- Azam Library in Giza.

The inauguration was attended by a number of popular and executive leaders in the governorate and the Ministry of Culture.

Minister of Culture said that every cultural gate - established or re-operated - is an objective way to build inpidual and demolish the extremist idea.

She stressed that the march of enriching the cultural structure in Egypt is continuing, adding that Al-Bahr Al- Azam Library in Giza Governorate is a beacon of enlightenment.

She stressed the need to prepare a program of activities in parallel with the large population density of this district.

She thanked the family of the late critic Ali Abu Shadi for dedicating his library to the General organization of Culture Palaces be one of the components of the public library, which includes 100 books in Braille in various branches of knowledge, numbers of books issued by Qatar Magazine for Blinds, number of books containing treasures of human thought.

Moreover, the minister praised the artistic performance of “children's ballet Troupe “- affiliated to Giza Culture Palace.

On his part, Governor of Giza praised the reopening of the library as it represents a cultural and artistic outlet for the people of Giza, serving a number of districts that have huge population blocs.

He pointed out that the governorate provides all support to perform its enlightenment role as a knowledge and intellectual arena.

Awwad explained that the library has been inactive since 2011 and has been allocated to the Cultural Palaces Organization in 2014 and its development started in 2016.

It is located on total area of 3000 metres squared, the building is on 370 metres squared, the rest is left for green spaces.

It consists of three floors :- entrance hall, plastic Arts hall exhibition, a children's library includes About 2000 books, a summer cinema hall, a music hall, an information technology hall, a public library of about 7500 books in various branches of knowledge, science and literature hall.

The last floor includes a flat open Roof for open cultural activities.

It is worthy of note that Abel Dayem pointed to the completion of the preparation of an intellectual, cultural and artistic program that will serve all ages especially youth and children.
