Cote D'Ivoire successfully earned themselves a ticket to the under 23 African Cup of Nations final after toppling Ghana 3-2 via penalty shootout. The match was held at the Cairo Stadium on Tuesday in the tournament that will decide who gets to qualify for the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.

The original match time ended with both teams scoring two goals each in an equal match up. Cote D'Ivoire now automatically qualified for the Tokyo Olympics, but still awaits the winner between Egypt and South Africa in the match that will be held later on today. Ghana however still has it's Olympic dream intact as the third place winner will also earn a ticket to the Olympics.

The Ivorians maintained control of the match early on  forcing the Black Stars into their midfield and pressuring them to defend.

The Elephants capitalized their possession scoring an early goal in the 12th minute through Youssef Daw, who went one on one with the goal keeper before scoring the opener.

The Black starts rebounded against Cote D'Ivoire in the 50th minute after Yeboih snatched a goal as a result of a great cross from inside the penalty area.

The Ivoirians scored what they though was a decisive goal in the 85th minute, after a cross found it's way to the head of the phenomenal Daw who enforced his team's lead by scoring the second goal of the match.

Just as we thought the match was through, Mensah scored the equalizing goal for Ghana in the 94th minute, just seconds before the referee would issue the final whistle.
