On Thursday, the former speaker of the Greek parliament, Constantine Tassoulas, was sworn in as Greece's new president.
Tassoulas replaces Katerina Sakellaropoulou whose five-year term ended earlier in March.
Tassoulas was elected by the Greek parliament as the country's president last month.
After his election last month, the conservative lawmaker said: “Greece must further enhance its international standing while also striving for progress and trust within,” adding, “I believe these goals are widely shared.”
