“Captain America” star Chris Evans is in talks to play dentist Orin Scrivello in director Greg Berlanti’s movie musical remake of 1986 film “Little Shop of Horrors.”
Furthermore, the Hollywood Reporter also reported "Black Widow" star Scarlett Johansson and “Rocketman” star Taron Egerton are also considering the respective roles of Audrey, a flower shop worker and Seymour the florist.
Evans and Johansson last worked together on the “Captain America” and “Avengers” trilogy.
“Little Shop of Horrors” was originally a 1960 Roger Corman movie, starring a young Jack Nicholson, before it was turned into a musical in the early 80s, and adapted into the cult classic film starring Rick Moranis and Ellen Greene.
Evans, 38, was seen recently in 2019 film “Knives Out”, which has grossed over $267 million worldwide.
The movie had its world premiere at the 2019 Toronto International Film Festival on September 7, 2019.
Rotten Tomatoes, one of the most trusted measurements of quality for Movies & TV, described the movie as “Knives Out sharpens old murder-mystery tropes with a keenly assembled suspense outing that makes brilliant use of writer-director Rian Johnson’s stellar ensemble.”
It is worth mentioning that Evans, born on June 13, 1981, is an American actor. Evans began his career on the 2000 TV series "Opposite Sex".
He first gained worldwide attention in 2005 for playing the role of Marvel Comics character Human Torch in "Fantastic Four" and its sequel, and gained further attention for his portrayal of Steve Rogers/Captain America in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), during which he appeared in eleven films— including four cameos.
The actor's work in the MCU Universe established him as one of the highest-paid actors in the world.
Besides his superhero films, he is known for his roles in films "Not Another Teen Movie", "Sunshine", "Scott Pilgrim vs. the World", "Snowpiercer", "Gifted", and "Knives Out ".
In 2014, he made his directorial debut with drama film Before We Go, which he had also starred in, and made his Broadway debut in 2018 production of Lobby Hero.
