China announced on Tuesday that it had received an invitation from the United States to join the "Peace Council," an initiative launched by US President Donald Trump to work on resolving conflicts around the world.
Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Guo Jiaxing told a press conference, "The Chinese side has received an invitation from the American side," without specifying whether Beijing would accept or decline the invitation.
Jordan's King Abdullah II had previously received an invitation from US President Donald Trump to join the Peace Council.
The official spokesman for the Jordanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Ambassador Fouad Majali, affirmed that the Kingdom appreciates President Trump's leadership role in achieving a ceasefire in Gaza, launching the comprehensive peace plan, and his efforts to achieve security, stability, and peace.
