Liverpool’s title charge hit a dramatic setback on Saturday night after a last-gasp defeat to Chelsea at Stamford Bridge saw them lose their grip on the Premier League summit.

The Reds, featuring Egyptian superstar Mohamed Salah, fell 2–1 in a thrilling encounter that kept fans on edge until the final whistle.

Chelsea broke the deadlock just before halftime through Ecuadorian midfielder Moisés Caicedo, who fired a precise strike from outside the box to give the Blues a 1–0 lead heading into the break.

Liverpool responded strongly after the restart, and in the 63rd minute, Dutch forward Cody Gakpo leveled the score, finishing off a clever pass from Alexander Isak.

However, heartbreak struck in stoppage time when substitute Stéfao Willian found the back of the net in the 94th minute, sealing a dramatic victory for Chelsea and sending Stamford Bridge into raptures.

Mohamed Salah played the full 90 minutes for Liverpool but was unable to rescue his side as Chelsea’s resilience proved decisive on the night.

The result means Liverpool surrender their place at the top of the Premier League table, while Chelsea continue their climb under renewed confidence.
