Egypt's annual inflation rate rose to 5.7% in November 2020, the highest rate since April, from 4.5% in October, mainly due to higher prices for vegetables and other food products.
On a monthly basis, consumer prices rose 0.8%, after increasing 1.8% in the previous month.
The annual rate of core inflation recorded 4% in November 2020, compared to 3.9% a month earlier, according to the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE).

The Core Consumer Prices in Egypt increased to 105.60 points in October from 103.80 points in September of 2020.
Moreover, the cost of food in Egypt decreased -0.70% in October of 2020 over the same month in the previous year, according to CBE.
In addition, Producer Prices in Egypt decreased -7.50% in July of 2020 over the same month in the previous year.
In November 2020, the basic consumer price index prepared by the Central Bank recorded a monthly rate of zero, compared to a negative rate of 0.1% in November 2019, and a monthly rate of 1.7% in October 2020.
The general urban consumer price index (Inflation Rate MoM) reached a monthly rate of 0.8% in November, compared to a negative monthly rate of -0.3% in November 2019, and a monthly rate of 1.8% in October 2020, according to CAPMAS.
