Carteron Names 21-Man Squad for Zamalek-Tala'ea El Gaish Clash

Zamalek's head coach Patrice Carteron has named his 21-man squad for the White Knights clash against Tala'ea El Gaish in the Egyptian League.

The Whites are set to clash against Tala'ea El Gaish on Monday at 19:30 (CLT).

The squad sees the absence of some prominent and influential players such as Abdallah Gomaa, Hazem Emam, Mahmoud Hamdy "Al Winsh," Zamalek’s captain Shikabala, Ahmed Sayed Zizo and forward Khalid Boutaïb.

The 21-man squad is as follows:

Goalkeepers: Mohamed Awad, Mohamed Abou Gabal, Mohamed Sobhi

Defenders: Mahmoud Alaa, Mohamed Abdel Ghani, Islam Gaber, Mohamed Abdel Shafy, Mohamed Abdel Salam, Ahmed Eid

Midfielders: Tarek Hamed, Ferjani Sassi, Mohamed Hassan, Imam Ashour, Karim Bambo, Youssef Obama, Mohamed Ounajem, Mostafa Fathy, Achraf Bencharki, Mohamed Antar

Forwards: Mostafa Mohamed, Omar El Saed

On Monday, December 2, Zamalek’s chairman Mortada Mansour appointed Carteron as the White Knights’ new head coach, succeeding Milutin Sredojević ‘Micho.

“Zamalek board of directors, headed by Mansour decided to appoint Patrice Carteron as new head coach and Sami El-Sheshini and Ayman Abdel Aziz as assistant coaches,” Mansour said on his official Facebook page.

Zamalek ended the last season with two trophies after claiming their second Egypt Cup title in a row and their 27th domestic trophy overall by defeating Pyramids on Sunday at Borg Al Arab stadium (3-0).
