Government data revealed that the Suez Canal A revenues grew to new records last May.

Revenues of the Canal amounted to about  EGP12 billion in the month of May, compared to the revenues achieved in the same month last year, which were estimated at about EGP 8.3 billion,  with an increase of about 3.7 billion pounds.

Data issued by the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS) indicate that Suez Canal revenues have witnessed a remarkable increase since the beginning of this year, even with the aftermath of the Russian-Ukrainian war that has existed since the end of last February.

The Suez Canal boomed during the fiscal year 2021/2022, where the revenues increased by 20.7% to record about $7 billion, compared to about $5.8 billion in 2020/2021.
