Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS) issued today 23 / 8 /2023 study on " trends of E-commerce in Egypt during the period (2011-2021)", The main indicators are as following:
• China, Hong Kong ranks The first in the world in terms of the proportion of
e-commerce exports compared to total merchandise trade, as it raised from 42.5% to 61.2% during the period (2011-2021). Also, China, Hong Kong comes
The first in terms of the proportion of e-commerce imports to total merchandise trade, as it increased from 40.4% to 57.5% during the period (2011-2021).
• Egypt comes first among the Arab countries in terms of the percentage of e-commerce exports compared to total merchandise trade, as it increased from 0.2% to 2.9% during the period (2011-2021). Also, Egypt comes The first in terms of the percentage of e-commerce imports compared to total merchandise trade, as it increased from 3.5% to 4.8% during the period (2011-2021).
• Egypt ranked 109th in the world and 13th at the level of Arab countries in 2020, according to Global e-commerce readiness index, published by the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD).
• The UAE and SOUDIA come in the first rank at the level of the Arab countries in 2020, according to the Global e-commerce reading index, They occupy the 37th and 49th positions in the world, respectively.
• Morocco and Libya come in the last rank before Egypt at the level of the Arab countries in 2020, according to the Global e-commerce readiness index, They occupy the 95th and 85th positions in the world, respectively.
• The number of fixed line subscribers reached 11 million, while the total number of mobile subscribers reached 103.5 million in 2021.
• The number of mobile Internet users reached 63.4 million, and the number of USB modem subscribers reached 2.1 million in 2021.
• The number of government post offices reached 4,194 in 2021
