A bus crash in British Columbia, Canada, injured more than 50 people, David Eby, governor of the westernmost Canadian province, said on Twitter late Saturday.
Canadian media reported that 53 people were taken to hospital after the accident near the town of Kelowna, and it was not immediately clear what caused the accident.
"Shocked and saddened by the news of a serious bus accident between Merritt and Kelowna on the Okanagan Connector," Eby wrote on Twitter.
“Our thoughts are with those impacted, their loved ones, and the first responders and healthcare workers giving their all to treat people and keep them safe.”
