The game started with great pressure from the Nigerian team, which confined the hungry Lions into their own midfield within the opening minutes

The Eagles wasted several chances  to threaten the goal of Onana, but always the final touch was absent. Nigeria took the lead in the 19th minute after a kick-off from the penalty area scored by Kenyet Umero.
