Cairo University President Mohamed Osman El Khosht said on Saturday the university funds number of research projects of the teaching staff and researchers in different academic sectors.
The research projects are related to the fields of desalination and water treatment, alternative energy, slums, food, endemic diseases and nanotechnology," he noted.
"Applied researches will be developed to solve some specific problems in the society including land reclamation and providing food for the animals," Khosht said. "The projects will be funded by local or international entities or by the university itself".
He stressed the importance of the research projects to be linked with the country's national economy.
