Egypt is set to host an international conference aimed at coordinating humanitarian efforts and reconstruction in the Gaza Strip, in cooperation with the United Nations.

The event comes amid intensified Egyptian diplomatic efforts to secure a ceasefire and promote a long-term recovery framework for the Palestinian territory.

The conference is expected to gather wide international participation, with representatives from nearly 100 countries and global institutions anticipated to attend. Organizers hope to rally financial and logistical support for Gaza’s recovery through the creation of a trust fund dedicated to channeling international pledges into concrete reconstruction projects.

This initiative follows the Arab Extraordinary Summit for Palestine held in Cairo earlier this year, where regional leaders endorsed a comprehensive reconstruction plan for Gaza. The plan, developed in collaboration with the Palestinian Authority and international partners, outlines a phased approach to recovery—beginning with emergency relief and leading into long-term rebuilding efforts.

In recent weeks, Egypt’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has engaged with foreign diplomats and representatives of international organizations to build momentum for the conference. These consultations have spanned regions, including Asia, Africa, Europe, and the Americas, reflecting Egypt’s effort to position the Gaza reconstruction as a global humanitarian priority.

Egyptian leadership has emphasized the importance of international solidarity, urging nations to contribute actively to the upcoming conference and its humanitarian goals. The broader effort is framed as part of Egypt’s strategic vision for peace in the region, with a long-term objective of establishing an independent Palestinian state.
