The Chairman of the Egyptian Holding Company for Airports and Air Navigation Ayman Fawzy Arab said that Cairo International Airport achieved remarkable growth in total passenger and air traffic during January 2025.
The chairman added in a statement, Sunday, that the airport received 2,587 million passengers, while the number of flights for various national and foreign airlines reached 18,450 flights, an increase of 9% in the number of passengers and 7% in the number of flights in January 2025, year-on-year.
He stressed that Cairo Airport is expected to witness an increase in passenger and air traffic during the coming period due to the demand for Umrah during the months Shaaban and Ramadan, in addition to all the services provided by Cairo Airport to passengers on board multinational flights.
He explained that this increase reflects Cairo Airport's vision to strengthen its position as a major regional hub for air traffic through continuous investment in developing infrastructure and improving operational efficiency and services.
The company's chairman added, "We are working to achieve a balance between expanding air traffic and ensuring the highest levels of comfort for passengers, in line with our strategy to support the Egyptian civil aviation sector."
