A Moroccan newspaper revealed on Friday that the Confederation of the African Football (CAF) will postpone the semi-final encounters of the CAF Champions League (CL) until June due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Egypt's Zamalek are set to clash against Raja, while the Egyptian Giants Al Ahly are set to face Wydad.

The first leg of the semi-finals encounters, due to take place on May 2 and 3, will be held on June 12 and 13, while the second leg, set to be held on May 7 and 8, will be held on June 17 and 18.

The Emergency Committee of the CAF is set to hold a meeting in the next month to take the final decision.

On March 13, CAF said they decided to postpone the AFCON 2021 Qualifiers, FIFA Women’s U-20 World Cup Qualifiers, and Women’s AFCON 2020 Qualifiers until further notice.

Coronavirus has affected many sports events around the world; many countries suspended their league and matches due to the virus concerns, which claimed the lives of thousands of people.

It is worth mentioning that hat newly-built Japoma Stadium in the Cameroonian city of Douala has been chosen to host the CAF Champions League one-match final.

CAF Executive Committee decided, during its meeting last June, that the Interclub competitions of Champions League and Confederation finals would be played on a single game.
