Egypt’s Cabinet Media Center has denied circulating claims that the government intends to sell the country’s airports as part of its state offering program, stressing that the rumors are completely unfounded.

In an official statement issued Friday, the center said the Ministry of Civil Aviation confirmed that all Egyptian airports remain fully owned by the state and fall strictly under national sovereignty.

The ministry emphasized that the government is currently implementing an integrated strategy to upgrade airport infrastructure and expand overall capacity.

According to the Cabinet Media Center, the government’s asset program does not involve the sale of state-owned facilities. Instead, it focuses on offering public–private partnership opportunities in management, operation, and development to enhance efficiency, attract investment, and boost economic returns in the aviation sector.

The program is also designed to raise service quality for passengers and to accommodate the steady growth in air travel and tourism, in line with the latest global standards.
