Mohamed El-Homsani, the spokesman for Cabinet explained that Prime Minister Mustafa Madbouly today referred to the concept of "war economy", which means taking exceptional measures at the economic level to face the lack of supply chains in the event of a regional war.
The measures come as part of the government’s plan to deal with crises similar to those in the country during the coronavirus pandemic, when measures were taken to ensure the provision of food commodities.
El-Homsani added, during A call-in with the Ahmed Moussa broadcast on the Sada Al-Balad channel, that the government is constantly working to secure the necessary resources for power generation, and has developed a comprehensive plan to deal with any crises that may arise in the region.
He stressed that the state is ready to face the worst possible scenarios at the local and regional levels, to ensure the stability of the economy and provide for the needs of citizens.
The spokesman explained that today's meeting comes within the government's efforts to reassure citizens, stressing that the state is ready to face all possible scenarios and deal with any negative developments resulting from the current events in the region.
