The UK has charged five Bulgarians, suspected of executing espionage missions for Russia. The accused, as reported by the "New York Daily News," include Orlin Roussev, Bizer Dzhambazov, Katrin Ivanova, Ivan Stoyanov, and Vanya Gaberova. Their court hearing is scheduled for the upcoming Tuesday at Westminster's magistrate court.
These individuals are accused of conspiring to collate information favorable to Russia from August 2020 to February 2023. Intelligence suggests their collaboration with clandestine Russian outfits to surveil targets across the UK and Europe.
Evidence from their London and Norfolk residences unveiled a plethora of counterfeit passports and IDs from various European countries. Rosov, believed to be the spy ring's mastermind, is suspected to have personally crafted these forgeries.
The revelation of this espionage ring was the handiwork of the London Metropolitan Police's counter-terrorism division.
