The British Ambassador to Cairo Gareth Bayley appointed actor Ahmed Hatem as its Social Affairs Ambassador, the Embassy and the actor announced on Thursday by sharing a video on Instagram.
In the video, Hatem announced the launch of the British Embassy’s fund for ending gender-based violence under the theme of “For Her-With Her."
The fund targets supporting the survivors of gender-based violence, and studying the causes of such a phenomenon to set effective solutions to end it.
The fund will provide grants to women-focused organizations or NGOs that work on eliminating gender-based violence, supporting survivors, and reaching all segments of society, including rural and underserved communities.
Organizations can receive these grants by submitting proposals that contain their strategy or action plan to address the objectives of the fund.
Proposal submissions can be submitted until January 9th, 2023.
The accepted proposals will be announced on March 3, 2023.
