Breaking: Al Ahly Land in Tough Draw at FIFA Clubs World Cup 2021

2020 CAF Champions League Winner Al Ahly have discovered their opponents in the FIFA Club World Cup as the draw was announced on Tuesday.

The coveted championship is set to take place between February 1st and February 11th in Qatar with three stadiums set to host the games: Ahmad Bin Ali, Khalifa International and Education City stadiums.

The opening match was supposed to be between Qatari champions Al Duhail and Auckland City of New Zealand. However, Auckland announced their withdrawal from the competition due to COVID-19.

The qualified teams, for now, are Al Ahly who will represent CAF, UEFA will be represented by Bayern Munich, Ulsan Hyundai will represent the AFC and CONCACAF champions Tigres UANL will also join the mix.

Al Ahly Land in Dangerously Tough Spot

It revealed that Al Ahly are set to face Qatari champions Al Duhail in the second round of the tournament.

FIFA also announced that if the African Champions where to defeat Al Duhail, they will come up against European titans Bayern Munich, who won five trophies last year.

The Red Devils had qualified for the Club World Cup after winning the CAF Champions League for the ninth time in the club’s history.
