Reports in Spain reveal that Moroccan international Brahim Díaz is on the verge of signing a new long-term deal with Real Madrid, extending his stay well beyond the summer of 2027, when his current contract is due to expire.

According to ESPN journalist Rodra, Díaz has already reached a final agreement with the club’s management.

A decisive factor in the midfielder’s choice was a personal phone call from new head coach Xabi Alonso, who assured him of a key role in his sporting project at the Bernabéu.

Rodra added that Alonso contacted Díaz even before officially taking charge of the team, outlining his tactical plans and the role he envisions for him in the upcoming season. This conversation reportedly gave Díaz the confidence to commit his future to Los Blancos.

Díaz had been linked with several top European clubs, including Paris Saint-Germain, but his desire to remain in Madrid ultimately swayed the negotiations. The official announcement of his renewal is expected in the coming months.

The 25-year-old midfielder started in Real Madrid’s opening match of the 2025/26 La Liga season, lining up alongside Vinícius Júnior and Kylian Mbappé.
