US president Joe Biden said on Sunday, that the US and its allies will "respond decisively" if Russia further invades Ukraine, according to the White House's statement.
In a phone call, Biden and his Ukrainian counterpart, Volodymyr Zelensky, affirmed their support for political efforts and strategic dialogue with Russia to resolve the crisis.
It is worth mentioning that the Kremlin expressed its satisfaction with the outcome of the phone call that took place on Thursday evening between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Biden.
In a statement, the Kremlin said that Russian President Putin had told his US counterpart that imposing new sanctions over Ukraine could lead to a complete breakdown in relations.
On his part, the Russian president said that such sanctions would be a "colossal mistake".
