The historic debate between U.S. President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump kicked off in a showdown seen by millions , in their first direct debate that could be decisive in the race to the White House.

The debate began with the question of the economy that millions of Americans are waiting for.

President Joe Biden told voters that the economy is booming and has never done better — though, as he often says, there is still work to be done.

But from former President Donald Trump’s perspective, “the economy is collapsing” and living in total chaos, he said at a recent election rally in Wisconsin.

With a question to each of them on the subject, Biden praised the economy of his reign, noting that he had achieved jobs. I took over a crumbling economy and Trump ran it very poorly, he said. And I work hard to face the problems of the economy. Greed during the Trump administration has led to major economic chaos and problems.”

Trump said: “I left an economy that was the best in history despite the coronavirus pandemic. Inflation right now is killing the United States. During my administration, I have achieved a lot in the field of economics. China outperformed under Biden and did not move. I worked to cut taxes during my administration. The Biden administration doesn’t know what to do”
