US President Joe Biden will meet the German Chancellor Angela Merkel in the White House next month, the White House stated on Friday.
The upcoming meeting will be the first one to conduct by the German chancellor since Biden took the office. Also, the visit could be the final one for Merkel to the US during her term as chancellor.
According to the White House, the meeting is scheduled for July 15 for discussing various common-interest issues.
"Chancellor Merkel's visit will affirm the deep bilateral ties between the United States and Germany," the White House announced.
"The leaders will discuss their commitment to close cooperation on a range of common challenges, including ending the COVID-19 pandemic, addressing the threat of climate change, and promoting economic prosperity and international security based on our shared democratic values," the statement added.
