US President Joe Biden stressed, on Monday, during his meeting with Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum, the importance of cooperation between the two countries in the fields of immigration and security.
The White House said that Biden expressed his congratulations on the recent election of Claudia Sheinbaum, reaffirming "the United States' commitment to building a prosperous North America with good-paying jobs."
This came during Biden's meeting with his Mexican counterpart, Claudia Sheinbaum, on the sidelines of the G20 leaders' summit in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
During the meeting, the two leaders stressed the importance of maintaining cooperation in the areas of immigration and security, addressing the scourge of transnational criminal violence and economic issues, and building on the strong bilateral partnership between the United States and Mexico, according to the White House.
