Eid Al Fitr is a festival that marks the end of Ramadan and is celebrated by Muslims and Christians in Egypt. It is a three-day holiday and many people choose to travel during this time. This presents a great opportunity to explore Egypt through tours. From Heliopolis to Alazhr, the city's public parks and gardens offer a refreshing break from the usual cafe outings. So, pack a picnic, grab your sunscreen, and get ready to discover the best public parks and gardens that Cairo has to offer.

Heliopolis

The Heliopolis district has a rich history of celebrating Eid with pomp and glamour. The festivity can be witnessed in every nook and corner of this iconic district. Eid in Roxy is undoubtedly one of the best places to visit for Eid in Cairo. With colorful lights, music, and smiles all around, the place is a sight to behold.

Merryland Park

Merryland Park is a historic park in Heliopolis that dates back to the reign of King Farouk in 1949. The park was known as 'The Land of Happiness' due to its popularity and was a hub for daily activities like sports and social gatherings. After extensive renovation, the park has partially reopened and is open from 9 AM to 11 PM. The entry fee is EGP 20 on weekdays and EGP 30 on weekends.

Al Azhar Park

Al Azhar Park is highly recommended for a visit during the Eid holidays. With Eid al-Adha celebrated with great vigor and zest, you can have the best experience here at this time of the year. The stunning garden spans 80 acres and features over a hundred varieties of plants. Inspired by historic Islamic gardens, the design of the park is centered around a formal axis with a water channel leading towards a small lake and accompanying alleyways, pointing towards the Saladin Citadel.

The park's entertainment places are divided into distinct areas, including the citadel restaurant, the Ayyubid Wall, and Darb-Al-Ahmar. Azhar Park is not only one of the most beautiful gardens in Cairo, but it's also one of the most tourist-friendly game parks on the African continent. It's an outdoor enthusiast's paradise with dramatic peaks and pristine lakes.
