Are you planning to pack your bags and embark on a summer vacation? Egypt has a lot of great vacation spots to choose from! There are beautiful coastal cities, iconic historical sites, and affordable summer resorts. To help you decide where to go, we've compiled a list of the best cities for a summer vacation in Egypt.

Alexandria

Alexandria is the largest coastal city in Egypt and a popular Mediterranean vacation hotspot. It is also the most desired destination for summer vacations. The Alexandria Coast is a seventy-kilometer-long stretch of Egyptian coastline from the north-western side of the Nile delta (at town El-Dekhila) to Mariout Lake (Town Abu-Qir) in the east. The city is home to Mountazah, an imaginative seaside park with trails, gardens, playgrounds, boat ponds, an iconic palace belonging to the era of Khepe Ismaeil, hotels, food courts, and restaurants.

Hurghada

The Grand Aquarium in Hurghada is the largest in the Middle East, with over 5,000 animals, including whale sharks, tiger sharks, hammerheads, thresher sharks, and dolphins. The city has unique neighborhoods with great food and Upper Egypt culture. The national Hurghada tourism site offers a guide where you can learn more about local iconic restaurants, entertainment places, and more.

Dahab City

Dahab is an excellent choice for a summer vacation, thanks to its great weather all year round.

Taba

No Sinai trip is complete without a visit to Taba. The Sinai Bedouins are generous and enthusiastic by nature and will welcome you with warm smiles and hearty meals. Thanks to an uptick in indirect flights in recent years, accessing the majority of Egyptian cities has never been easier or more affordable. When you arrive in this wonderful coastal city capital, get ready for a visit to its notable heights. You can expect to go up and down, down and up – and repeat. Don't worry, hop-on-hop-off buses and trolleys – like in Hurghada – make it easy to give your legs a break.
