Berlinale to Be in-Person Ceremony

The 72nd Berlin International Film Festival will be an in-person ceremony in February.

Meanwhile, the European Film Market, which normally runs alongside the Berlinale, will be held fully virtual.

Organizers stated that the festival will continue as planned amid strict coronavirus protocols for delegates who plan to attend.

The decision arrives after days of discussions between organizers and various levels of government.

More details on how exactly the festival will unfold will be announced on Wednesday.

The in-person event is set to run February 10-20.

Last year, the festival held its 71st edition virtually following rise of coronavirus cases in Germany.
