Moroccan singer and fashion designer Bassma Boussel is opening up about why her marriage to Egyptian superstar Tamer Hosny came to an end despite maintaining a healthy relationship.
In a recent interview, Boussel revealed she and Hosny divorced after 12 years of marriage due to the matter being related to her.
She disclosed that after a long period, she knew very well that the matter was related to her.
“We have reached a point where we don’t know how to talk. The nature of Tamer’s work is also difficult and always requires effort, but I discovered that the problem is that I get very attached to people, and this is my problem.”
She explained that resorting to God Almighty was the safest solution: “I performed Umrah 3 times in one year, running to the Kaaba and complaining, and thank god, I became contented.”
In December, Boussel spoke candidly about their separation explaining that despite the split, she has a strong friendship with her ex-husband.
"The most difficult decision I have ever made in my life was the divorce because you build things for years and suddenly discover that it will need to be undone," she said.
Boussel added, "I think our children understand the idea of divorce, because they see that the relationship between us has become better, and just because we didn't couldn't continue as a couple we cannot be friends,".
In April 2023, the couple called it quits after 12 years of marriage. The two went on to have three children named Adam, Talyia, and Amaya.
The couple has not given a reason for their split, however, there have been speculations throughout the years surrounding extreme jealousy and cheating rumors.
Later on, Boussel indicated that Hala Omar, Tamer Hosni’s manager, was the reason for their divorce.
