Emirati-Yemeni singer Balqees Fathi has become the first Arab star to have a wax figure at Madame Tussauds in Dubai.

The singer met on Tuesday her wax figure for the first time at the world-famous wax museum, which is set to open in Caesars Palace Dubai, Bluewaters Island later this year.

Fathi, who rose to fame in 2013, will be among the 60 wax figures set to be featured in the new attraction,  alongside global stars such as Cristiano Ronaldo, Kylie Jenner, and Shah Rukh Khan.

A team of Madame Tussauds’ sculptors traveled to Dubai to take the singer’s measurements, before heading back to London to sculpt the figure by hand and inserting real hair strand by strand. The wax figure was created in three months.

In a statement, the singer revealed that she felt privileged to be the first Arab artist to stand side by side her wax figure at the iconic Madame Tussauds Dubai.

Fathi shared that she was overwhelmed with the incredible likeness that this wax figure holds to her physical appearance and to the impeccable attention to detail that captures her personality.

The singer added that she cannot wait for people to visit Madame Tussauds and to finally be able to enjoy this unique experience in the Arab world.
