New York Police arrested Bahgat Saber during a live broadcast on the street, which continued until he was dragged into the police car with his hands cuffed behind his back.
During his arrest, he said, "They want to arrest me to stop me from my right. The freedom of speech."
Saber is hostile to the Egyptian state, and is known for his support for former Egyptian President Mohamed Morsi, and is affiliated with the Muslim Brotherhood, a group which is known as the "Terrorist Group" by several countries in the region.
Police arrested the fugitive Brotherhood member, after several women filed a complaint against him, accusing him of insults and slander.
