Awad Ruled Out of Zamalek's Squad for ES Tunis Encounter

Zamalek's goalkeeper Mohamed Awad has been ruled out of the White Knights' clash for Friday's most-awaited encounter in the CAF Super Cup (SC) against Espérance Sportive de Tunis.

The 18-man squad witnessed the presence of the Whites' first-choice goalkeeper Mahmoud Genesh, who features in the squad for the second consecutive Champions League game.

Qatar’s capital, Doha, is set to host the Super Cup match for the second consecutive year as the Tunisian team will enter the game as the CAF Champions League holders, whilst the White Knights will play the match as the Confederation Cup champions.

The 18-man squad is as follows:

Goalkeepers: Mahmoud Genesh, Mohamed Abou Gabal

Defenders: Mahmoud Alaa, Mohamed Abdel Ghani, Mohamed Abdel Shafy, El-Winsh, Abdallah Gomaa, Hazem Emam

Midfielders:  Tarek Hamed, Ferjani Sassi, Mohamed Hassan, Islam Gaber, Youssef Obama, Mohamed Ounajem, Achraf Bencharki, Ahmed Sayed Zizo, Shikabala,

Forwards: Mostafa Mohamed,

It is worth mentioning that, the Confederation of African Football (CAF) confirmed the appointment of South African Victor Miguel de Freitas Gomes as the center referee for the game.

The White Knights managed to lift the CAF Confederation Cup title after defeating RS Berkane 5-4 on penalties.

On the other hand, ES Tunis won their second consecutive CAF Champions League trophy after defeating Wydad AC 2-1 on Aggregate.
