The emergency services in Sydney reported carrying out 13 rescues and receiving 297 distress calls from residents in the capital of New South Wales over the past 24 hours, as of 5 AM local time.
The New South Wales emergency service issued a statement revealing that 10 emergency evacuation orders were enforced in the northwestern suburbs of the city.
The Australian Bureau of Meteorology has warned of the potential for severe flooding in the area, home to approximately five million residents, later today.
