Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis has firmly denied rumors suggesting tension with manager Antonio Conte or any possibility of his resignation, following the heated aftermath of the defeat to Bologna.
After meeting Sporting Director Giovanni Manna in Rome, De Laurentiis addressed the speculation directly through an official statement on social media, shutting down talk of a breakdown between himself and the coach.
“I am proud to have at my side, and at the side of Napoli and the players, a real man like Antonio Conte,” De Laurentiis said, via Gazzetta dello Sport.
He praised Conte’s commitment and work ethic, describing him as someone “capable of dedicating every second of his life to his profession, with generosity and determination.” De Laurentiis emphasized that there is “a special harmony” between the two, referring to their shared values — which he described as “the three C’s.”
Responding directly to the resignation rumors circulating online, De Laurentiis was clear:
“I read the fairy tale about Conte resigning… you know that thoughts online are not always correct or shareable.”
The clarification effectively closes the door on any speculation that Conte’s frustration after the Bologna match had created internal conflict within the club.
For now, both De Laurentiis and Conte appear united — fully focused on moving forward and stabilizing Napoli’s season.
