Atlético Madrid are reportedly edging closer to securing a major signing after reaching a verbal agreement with Ghanaian star Mohammed Kudus, currently playing for Tottenham Hotspur, ahead of a potential move to the Spanish capital.

According to British outlet Top Skills Sports UK, Kudus has already agreed to join Atletico Madrid on a four-and-a-half-year contract, as the club seeks to strengthen its attacking options under Argentine manager Diego Simeone.

The report added that Atletico Madrid’s management is currently working to finalize negotiations with Tottenham in order to reach a formal agreement over the transfer fee. Once the financial terms are settled, the Spanish club is expected to officially announce the deal.

Sources also suggest that the inconsistent results of some Premier League clubs could help facilitate the move during the upcoming summer transfer window, potentially allowing Atletico Madrid to sign the player for a reduced fee.

Kudus has emerged as one of Tottenham’s standout performers in recent seasons, impressing in England with his creativity, pace, and attacking versatility.

His performances have attracted the attention of several major European clubs, making him one of the most sought-after talents in the market.
