The Tourism and Antiquities Ministry is preparing for the inauguration of the Aten Museum in Minya within weeks.
The Higher Committee for the Museum Show Scenario, chaired by Ali Omar, former dean of the Faculty of Tourism and Hotels, conducted an inspection tour inside the museum to examine the developments of its work.
Moamen Othman, Head of the Museums Sector, indicated that all the interior works related to the museum, including the placement of the curtains and other works, are now being completed.
Aten Museum is considered to be one of the largest Egyptian museum projects and the icon of Minya governorate, spanning about 25 acres.
The main building includes permanent exhibition halls, a theatre, a conference center, and a scientific library, in addition to the tourist services area with restaurants, cafeterias, bazaars, and a tourist walkway on the Nile.
It is worth noting that work on the project began in 2004, as more than one site was chosen to build the museum until the current site was allocated on the eastern bank of the Nile in front of the city of Minya.
