Arsenal delivered a commanding performance as they defeated Aston Villa 4-1 on Tuesday night at the Emirates Stadium, strengthening their position at the top of the Premier League table in the 19th round of the 2025-2026 season.
The first half ended without goals, as both sides struggled to break the deadlock.
Arsenal, however, raised the tempo after the break and quickly took control of the match.
Gabriel Magalhaes opened the scoring in the 48th minute, before Martin Zubimendi doubled the lead just four minutes later.
The home side continued to dominate, with Leandro Trossard adding the third goal in the 69th minute, followed by Gabriel Jesus, who made it 4-0 in the 78th minute.
Aston Villa managed a late consolation goal through Ollie Watkins in stoppage time, but it did little to change the outcome.
With this convincing victory, Arsenal remain top of the Premier League standings with 45 points.
They now sit five points clear of second-placed Manchester City and six points ahead of Aston Villa in third place, successfully closing out the year 2025 at the summit of English football.
