The Arab Parliament has expressed its deep regret over the veto of the resolution proposed by Algeria at the United Nations Security Council on behalf of Arab countries, which called for an immediate ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and its surrounding areas.

The Parliament warned of the dangers of maintaining the status quo and the potential for escalation without any significant action from the international community and the Security Council, and the compliance with the Israeli war machine.

In a statement released today, the Arab Parliament highlighted that the occurrences within the corridors of the Security Council confirm the presence of a system incapable of maintaining international peace and stability. It called for the urgent need to reform this system to enable it to fulfill its designated role of promoting peace and security without bias.

The Parliament emphasized in its statement that the continuation of the brutal massacres in the Gaza Strip is a disgrace to humanity. It urged the international community to take responsibility for stopping the Palestinian bloodshed.

This call comes amidst heightened tensions and violence in the Gaza Strip, drawing international attention to the urgent need for a peaceful resolution and the reevaluation of the mechanisms of international governance to better serve global peace and security objectives.
