The President of the Arab Parliament Adel bin AbdulRahman AlAsoomi, congratulated Tulia Ackson, Speaker of the Parliament of Tanzania, for winning the office of President of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) for the next three years, during the elections held within the framework of the Inter-Parliamentary Union meetings hosted by the Republic of Angola from 23 to 27 October 2023.
In this context, AlAsoomi stressed that Ackson’s victory chairing the largest global parliamentary forum is of twofold importance, from being a woman, as well as the first African to head this global organization, which will have a positive impact on addressing the issues of Arab and African countries and developing countries in general within the Inter-Parliamentary Union.
