Arab information ministers wrapped up the 55th session of the Council of Arab Information Ministers on Wednesday at the Arab League headquarters in Cairo, reaffirming their commitment to supporting the Palestinian cause amid ongoing regional tensions.
The meeting, chaired by Syria and attended by Arab League Secretary-General along with ministers and representatives from member states and observer media organizations, issued resolutions urging continued political, humanitarian and rights-based support for Palestine. The council called on Arab media to intensify coverage of developments in Gaza and the West Bank, condemning what it described as ongoing Israeli violations of the truce in Gaza and serious abuses in the West Bank, including attacks on Palestinian journalists.
The council also highlighted the importance of promoting the Arab Media Code of Honor, updated during the Arab League Council’s 163rd session in April 2025. Ministers stressed the need for broad implementation of the code’s principles, including accuracy, objectivity, respect for state sovereignty and the rejection of discriminatory or biased rhetoric.
