The Arab League marked the Arab Day for Productive Families on Sunday, emphasizing the role of small family-run projects in reducing poverty, creating decent work and promoting social inclusion across the region.
In a statement, the organization said its General Secretariat, through the Council of Arab Social Affairs Ministers and related institutions, continues to support initiatives aimed at strengthening productive families and expanding their economic opportunities.
The League said it has launched an initiative to help transform productive family projects into entrepreneurial ventures by providing training, guidance and support to move beneficiaries from conditional cash assistance to sustainable sources of income.
It also said it is working with partners, including the Arab private sector and financial institutions, to integrate some family-based projects into supply chains of larger industries to ensure sustainability and better returns.
The League added that technology, innovation and artificial intelligence will be used to develop these initiatives, while special attention is given to empowering youth, women and people with disabilities.
The organization also announced plans to launch a website showcasing successful productive family projects turned into entrepreneurial ventures to promote knowledge exchange and regional marketing.
