The Arab Open University (AOU) in Egypt announced that the tuition fees will be at a fixed rate of 15.000 Egyptian pounds per semester including books.
The fees are calculated based on the total number of credit hours, in addition to the cost of the educational books. Cost per credit hour is 534 LE.
Foreign students pay exactly the same tuition as Egyptians. AOU is a not-for-profit university that aims at disseminating knowledge and allowing equal opportunities to all segments of society.
There are special Sports scholarships for National Championship athletes.
There is a special achievement scholarship of 15% reduction in tuition fees for high achievers who earned 95% or above in Thanaweya Ama.
There is a special achievement scholarship of 10% reduction in tuition fees for high achievers who earned 85% or above in Thanaweya Ama.
A reduction of 5% in tuition fees for students whose parents are University Academics or Army and police officers.
The university is one of the projects under the sponsorship of The Arab Gulf Programme for Development (AGFUND) established upon the initiative of His Royal Highness, Prince Talal Bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud.
The university offers dual certificates: An Egyptian one accredited by the Supreme Council of Universities and A certificate issued by The Open University in United Kingdom (OU-UK).
