Timothy Moten (28), the professional boxer who was brought in to replicate Andy Ruiz’s style to help Anthony Joshua prepare for their rematch in Saudi Arabia, is now looking to make his presence felt in the world of boxing.
Having quit two full time jobs to be Joshua’s sparring partner leading up to the fight, Moten (5-0) was able to gain some tremendous experience working alongside that level of talent that will aid him in his journey to become one of the next big names in the heavyweight scene.
Besides Anthony Joshua, which other great heavyweights have you sparred with ?
Besides AJ the only other heavyweight champion I have worked with is Oliver Mccall. I was in camp with him for the Darroll Wilson fight.
How is Anthony Joshua like in real life ?
Joshua in real life is the same as you see on camera he is a down to earth brother.
How is Anthony Joshua’s power in the ring ?
Joshua’s power is REAL he has those knockouts for a reason!
Your fighting style is often compared to that of Andy Ruiz. What’s your take on this statements ?
I definitely take things Andy does and apply them to my style. So I can see how people would compare us I watch all of the successful short heavyweights and take pieces of what I see, try them in the gym and if they work for me I keep them in my bag.
Which other great heavyweight would you like to compete against in the future whether in sparring or a world class fight ?
I’m open to all invitations sparring fights etc if its right for me and I benefit from it by gaining knowledge or improving my career i’m willing to do it !
What are future plans in boxing ?
My future plans with boxing is to become a World Champion.
