Amr Diab to Perform at Dubai Shopping Festival on Jan.22

Megastar Amr Diab is set to perform live at Dubai International Stadium, Sports City, as a part of the Dubai Shopping Festival, on January 22.

The festival will take place from December 17 - January 30.

On the other hand, Diab is set to release his new album, “Ya Ana Ya Laa” on Friday, December 25 at 08:00 PM (Cairo local time) via Vodafone MUSIC and Anghami.

It is worth mentioning that megastar, born on October 11, 1961, is an Egyptian multi-award-winning pop singer-songwriter.

Diab, known to fans as El-Hadaba, has created his own style, which is often termed “Mediterranean Music”, a blend of Western and Egyptian rhythms.

He became the first Arabic artist to start making high-tech music videos by 1992.

Diab’s fame in the entertainment industry has led him to experiment with other forms of media, such as film-making.

The singing legend co-starred in four films, “Al Sagenatan”, “El Afareet”, “Ice Cream in Gleam”, and “Dehk Wa Le’b Wa Gad Wa Hob”.

In 1988, he made his acting debut in film “Al Sagenatan” starring prominent actresses Elham Shahin and Samah Anwar.

Diab starred as himself in his second film, “El Afareet” — released in 1989 — with prominent actress, Madiha Kamel.

In 1992, the singing legend starred in his third film “Ice Cream in Gleam”, which was chosen as one of the best five Egyptian musical films by the “UCLA School of Theater, Film, and Television”.

The bestselling artist’s fourth film “Dehk Wa Le’b Wa Gad Wa Hob” came out in 1993, co-starring international Egyptian star Omar Sharif and prominent Egyptian actress Yousra.

Despite the films’ success, Diab did not experience the same level of success in acting as he had with his music. He has focused on his singing career since 1993.

However, the 59-year-old singing legend is set to resume his acting career after a 27-year hiatus with an Arabic original series for Netflix.
