The United Arab Emirates secured a seat on the Executive Office of the Council of Arab Information Ministers during meetings held at the Arab League headquarters in Cairo, reaffirming the nation’s growing influence in shaping joint Arab media policies.
The UAE delegation was led by Abdullah bin Mohammed bin Butti Al Hamed, Chairman of the UAE National Media Office, who said the election reflects the confidence Arab states place in the UAE’s leadership in advancing responsible and innovative media.
In exclusive remarks, UAE Ambassador to Egypt Hamad Obaid Al Zaabi said the win “underscores the UAE’s unwavering commitment to strengthening Arab media cooperation and supporting a unified, forward-looking media vision.” He added that the UAE “will continue investing its expertise to enhance digital transformation, empower media talent, and champion meaningful content that serves Arab societies.”
The session also approved an initiative by Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak to expand the Arab Child Media Award under UAE leadership.
